Glassrooms, much like timber decking or a garden terrace, can perform the role of being a kind of half-way house between the inside and the outside (although, of course, there is more inside than outside with a glassroom). There are a large number of reasons why you may want to consider installing a glass room, and only a few drawbacks which I will describe to you right now.

Glass Rooms – Cons:

  • Glass rooms, while beautiful, are only really a space you can enjoy during warmer periods of the year, as they are typically not very well insulated.
  • They let a lot more sunlight into your room than a simple skylight or window, which has the drawback of more glare, making it difficult to watch TV or use other digital devices.
  • During rainfall the rooms can be very loud.

Despite these drawbacks, many people still like glass rooms. Part of this is because of these benefits.

Glassrooms – Pros:

  • If you like the sound of rain, then you’ll love a glass room.
  • You can enjoy a beautiful sunny day without being exposed to the excesses of a windy day.
  • If you feel like you need to have more sunlight, a glassroom can be a great place to have a seating area and absorb some natural lighting while relaxing.
  • You have a great view of your garden.

Indoor Design and Planning

There is also a lot of work that you can plan to do inside of your home; both changes which are practical and functional improvements, as well as those which are purely aesthetic. There are a wide variety of things you can do, so it definitely merits some investigation before you actually reach a decision.
