Fascia boards are mounted between the roof and outer walls of a house. You might also hear them being referred to as the roofline, though fascia tends to be a more common description. They are fixed to the roof trusses and support the bottom row of tiles, as well as the guttering. On top of doing an important job structurally, fascias can also be important to the appearance of your home and the ones you choose will have a large bearing on how it looks.
If you live in a very modern building, your fascias will help to maintain this look right up into the roof. Often roofs will be flat, angled or even asymmetric, so fascias will need to be quite flat as well. Modern fascias are rarely subtle and will be there to make a statement. They might use bold, dark colours which comply with current fashions, such as greys and blacks.
Traditional or heritage fascias are very different in appearance and will usually be a lot softer in appearance. They will most likely be white, cream or another similar colour, and you will have the option to add in other decorative features. These could include spires and finials or decorative brackets to go under eaves and bay windows.
