If you want the luxury of having a swimming pool in your garden, but minus the lengthy fitting process, high prices and maintenance costs, a splasher pool is an excellent compromise. It will provide you with a small pool area to relax in during the summer months, but without all the hassle associated with a permanent pool.
Splasher pools come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and the one you choose will mainly be decided by your budget. For example, the cheapest kind of splasher pool which you could buy is an air ring pool, which is also the easiest to set up as it just requires inflation. More sturdy options are available with metal panelled sides, often with a wooden-style covering for aesthetic purposes. Most above ground pools will come with steps to fit onto the sides as standard. It is also possible to sink your pool into the ground if you want it to be a more permanent fixture – see individual specifications and speak to installers to decide which pool to choose if you wish to do this.
Whilst the maintenance requirements will be far lower than with permanent swimming pools, a splasher pool will still require some routine care. You’ll need a pump, and the water will need sanitising. There are various other pieces of equipment which you can purchase for your pool, such as covers and solar water heating devices.
