A pergola and garden decking are two very popular garden development options. For those who don’t know, a pergola is a frame, often wooden, ideal for use as a frame which plants can grow in and around, and decking is an area directly outside of a home which is at a higher level than the rest of the garden, working as a kind of half-way house between the inside and the outside.

The advantages to using both of these garden development options in combination are clear, as both provide similar things. A garden deck or even terrace works as a half-way house between the inside and the outside, and in a practical sense it can be very beneficial for keeping people’s shoes dry and clean. A pergola will also provide some shelter from rain and wind, helping to keep you dry, at least in light rain anyway. Together they can go a long way towards providing you with the benefits of being inside while still being able to enjoy the fresh air and slight breezes that being outside offers.
